BUZZ
Buzz is, without doubt, the greatest success story
of so
far.
This lovely boy arrived at the charity when his previous owners reluctantly
made an agonising decision to give him up. Buzz was their baby, but
the wonderful news that they were soon to have twins threw a spanner
in the works. They realised that Buzz would have difficulty accepting
the babies, and they realised they would not have the time to dedicate
to Buzz. Buzz was, by their own admission, not sociable - in fact
the only thing he accepted was them and his ball!
On his arrival at the kennels, Buzz proved just how difficult he could
be. He showed aggression towards everyone who went near his kennel
and he refused to eat as a result of the stress of his separation.
Slowly but surely, Buzz started to come around: firstly a biscuit,
then a greeting at the kennel every day, and soon Buzz allowed us
to exercise him. He had no time for anything else, just me and his
ball. Perseverence was paying off. I soon had the confidence in Buzz
to introduce him to my bitch, and then my dog. Buzz was wonderful.
He was ready to be rehomed; he did however need a very special home.
This home duly arrived. Buzz now lives on a stud farm where he is
truly the star of the show! Buzz helps with the daily feeding and
watering of the horses, carrying the empty feed buckets across the
yard. He now lives with 12 rescue cats and, at the last count, five
rescue dogs (some of whom do "Flyball"). He is so happy
in his new home!
Buzz was a cover boy on the 2004
Calendar, along with some of his friends from the kennels. All of
this work with Buzz took months, it was only possible due to our hard
work fund raising, and the generosity of our members, who gave Buzz
the Second Chance he deserved. A big thank you to everyone involved
with Buzz, especially Dr Margaret Conway for her continued generosity.
